The Indian flag is known in India as Tiranga meaning tricolour (or three colours) It has 3 stripes and a wheel in the middle.

	The orange stripe across the top stands for the Hindus living in the country.
The white stripe across the middle stands for the hope that Hindus and Muslims can live together happily.		The wheel in the centre is an old symbol for peaceful change.
	The green stripe across the bottom stands for the Muslims.
