Oxhey World - India - Weather and Climate

Because India is so huge the weather and temperature is different in all the different places. Where the mountains are in the north, snow falls and the temperature is very cold about -20 ° C, much colder than in England in the winter. But in the summer it is much hotter than England.

India has 3 main seasons. Hot season, monsoon season and cool season.

Hot: February - May

In India the summer is very hot and the temperatures reach 45 ° C. All the farmers wait for the monsoon season to bring the rain

Monsoon: June - October

Monsoon winds bring very heavy rain falls and the farmers are pleased to see this rain. If it didn’t rain all their crops would die. But sometimes there is too much rain and floods happen. Then millions of people are left homeless. Some people build brick houses on stilts so the water will go straight underneath them but these are expensive.

Cool: November - January

Cool season in India is the best time for the people. It is nice and warm. Not too hot and not too cold.
